Up,My scalp starts to itch when I’ve nothing negative to say about an earphone. But in the Westone 4’s case, I’ll have to contend myself with scratching and scratching. Detailed, well made, well accessorised, and good sounding, it is an excellent earphone for the audiophile and the consumer alike. And where the 3 sort of splayed out wildly, chasing away some good-intentioned musicians, the 4 will probably find space in the ear of your favourite musician.
The only downside I see is that the 4 is an upgrade to the three. If you are in the habit of upgrading, this shiny bird will prey on your wallet. If however, the Romulans ravaged your home base and looted your stash of warbuds, you are in equal danger of parting with the better part of 500$.

Quelques retours sur Head-fi aussi , il faut juste que je les retrouve :DWestone have struck gold with the Westone 4 design. It corrects the main deficits of the Westone 3s' design both sonically and durability wise. The price of $449 is a bit on the high side for many. For the avid music listener the sound quality of the Westone 4s makes them good value since you would have to venture on into custom in-ears in order to get anything better at the moment, and those things have zero resale value. The Westone 4s offer a level of performance that was previously unavailable without going the custom in-ear route, and compared to a custom solution these are approximately $300 cheaper. The Westone 4s are not the most musical in-ears out there. Compared to the older Westone 3s they are a bit more anonymous in the sense that there are no obvious flaws to their sound. Their slightly more linear frequency response makes them better performers across the range but it also dulls them down a bit. If you are looking for a set of in-ears with good performance across the line without any real cons then the Westone 4s are a good choice. Whether the Westone 4s are worth the asking price depends on whether you like the midrange presentation. It is slightly colder compared to other more mainstream audio products. With a sound stage that is out of this world and excellent detail retrieval across the board these in-ears are surely worthy successors of the Westone 3s, but bear in mind they are successors, people expecting a carbon copy of the Westone 3s will not find what they are looking for in the Westone 4s.
